There is nothing like spending an afternoon with five young stylish girls. All the silliness and talk about clothes and hair and nail polish may not be everyone's idea of a good time. However, I LOVE being around a group of little fashionistas. They crack me up! You can always count on them trying to act like grown-ups and they don't care that you are over twenty years older as long as you like the color purple, kittens, and jewelry. I got to tag along at the ultimate 7-year-old's birthday party. Makeovers! First stop was at Sephora in the Oaks Mall for (age appropriate) lip gloss and glitter eye shadow. Then everyone went to Salon 119 in the Tioga Town Center to have their hair and nails done. The ladies were ecstatic to have the little ladies in their shop and the girls were having a blast. What else would you do next but have a photo shoot with your girlfriends?! To finish everything off, the party wound up at Blue Highway Pizza for lunch. I'm thinking I might have to round up these girls for another photo shoot in the near future, it was just too fun!

Thirty: A Personal Post // Gainesville Lifestyle Photography
I love birthdays. I make big deals out of birthdays. It's one day that you can call yours, that you can call all the shots on. This year for me is a mile(aka MAJOR)stone. 30. Three-Oh. Dang. I know that it's just another day for everyone and that it shouldn't make a difference being 29 the day before. Oh, but it does for me. I'm not sure what exactly happened or why I am making it such a big deal, but thirty is different. It just FEELS different, you know? Like now I'm officially grown, or something. :) Weird. No mid-life crisis either. Unless you count dying my hair an incredible shade of plum purple as a crisis, which I don't. :) I like this number though. I don't feel old or worried or depressed. I just feel kind of like more...me, officially.
And at this age, I must say, that I am truly blessed by the people that God surrounds me with. I really do have the best friends in the world, a great church family, and a husband that I know loves me truly. My surprise party was a little "trip to Paris". Everything was styled by 2/3 (minus me)of Social Graces, Events by Design, and their helper bees. It was gorgeous! The weather was beautiful and the food delicious. Makes a girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Seriously though, it was a wonderful time and I couldn't have been happier unless I had actually gone to Paris itself!
