Thirty: A Personal Post // Gainesville Lifestyle Photography

I love birthdays. I make big deals out of birthdays. It's one day that you can call yours, that you can call all the shots on. This year for me is a mile(aka MAJOR)stone. 30. Three-Oh. Dang. I know that it's just another day for everyone and that it shouldn't make a difference being 29 the day before. Oh, but it does for me. I'm not sure what exactly happened or why I am making it such a big deal, but thirty is different. It just FEELS different, you know? Like now I'm officially grown, or something. :) Weird. No mid-life crisis either. Unless you count dying my hair an incredible shade of plum purple as a crisis, which I don't. :) I like this number though. I don't feel old or worried or depressed. I just feel kind of like more...me, officially.

And at this age, I must say, that I am truly blessed by the people that God surrounds me with. I really do have the best friends in the world, a great church family, and a husband that I know loves me truly. My surprise party was a little "trip to Paris". Everything was styled by 2/3 (minus me)of Social Graces, Events by Design, and their helper bees. It was gorgeous! The weather was beautiful and the food delicious. Makes a girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Seriously though, it was a wonderful time and I couldn't have been happier unless I had actually gone to Paris itself!

Sweethearts Josh & Rachael // Gainesville Lifestyle Photographer

Ah, the season of love...and all that other mushy stuff. How was your Valentine's by the way? Mine wasn't too shabby. We don't usually make a big deal out of this day because our wedding anniversary and the Hubb's birthday is so close to it. We did go out with the some friends for dinner and a drive-in movie. Had a great time despite the cold misty weather that is so rare here in Florida. I'm definitely not complaining about the weather by no means! I love the cold. Seriously. I'm pretty sure I was not created to live in hot humid climates.

I had a lot of fun at a recent concept shoot that my friend Shannon, from Shannon La'Ree Photography, and I set up last weekend. We had four couples model for us. It was a perfect day in a beautiful park. I will share more soon from that day but here first are my newly engaged friends. I had about 20-30 mins to shoot with them and I am just giddy (yes, i still use this word) over the work that came from it.

Let me know what you think in the comment section, and if you really love it, Pin It!

Sisters // Gainesville Children's Photographer

I love these two girlies to the extreme. :c) They are sweet and "awnry", sugar and spice. You could probably say that it's due to their red hair considering gingers are known to be spit-fires. I say it's because they are just like their mama, and maybe a little sassy like their Aunt Kim. ;c) Whatever reason you may choose, you can obviously see that they are beautiful and love each other like crazy.

For this shoot we had a picnic in the Hampton Flower Field. We had some fruit and cupcakes. Once the girls saw the apples though, I couldn't get them to put them down! lol!
