9 Years: A Personal Post // Lifestyle Wedding Photography // Gainesville, FL

“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”    ― Robert FulghumTrue Love

I have this quote in an album of photos from the earlier years in my marriage. And isn't it oh so true?
I love that this quote applies to me and my husband. We are very different people with similar goals and desires. He is an introvert. I am an extrovert. He is a hermit. I am a social butterfly. He loves sports and I... tolerate sports. I love to dance and he tolerates my moves. (And this girl has some moves!)

(the night it all began in 2000)

Keeping God in the forefront of our marriage has been, and will always be, the main reason why our marriage works. God has a design for marriage. He has a specific plan for our relationship. Our goal is to always honor Him in how we handle and love each other. Our love for Jesus is what brought us together as friends originally and this growing love is what will keep us together.

Yesterday was our 9th wedding anniversary. NINE. YEARS. I don't know how we got here. I don't know how that amount of time can feel so short and so long at the same time. Having been together for 13 years, almost half my life, it feels as if I have always been with my husband. We have had a few small speed bumps along the way. But man, how we have been blessed!

I now think about what God has in store for us this coming year...a baby? progress for an adoption? new places to see? All of these are being prayed for. I wonder if His timing is soon. Whatever it may be, I know this, that I will be by my husband's side and holding his hand as we embrace whatever is in store. Here's to another love and adventure filled year babe! XOXO
